Missoula Police were called on Saturday to what appears to have been a very public domestic dispute. Missoula Police Public Information Officer Travis Welsh explains.

"On Saturday, about 7:20 p.m., officers responded to a disturbance in the 2700 block of South 3rd Street west. When they arrived, they met with a female victim who reported that her live-in boyfriend had assaulted her before leaving the residence. He was later arrested when he returned.

Before police arrived, the argument, which began inside the residence, had apparently continued outside when the victim tried to flag down neighbors.

"It appears that they had been arguing for quite some time over the issue of infidelity. He is currently being held for one count of strangulation of a partner or family member. She was able to leave the apartment that they reside in, he did follow her out however she began contacting neighbors and asking anyone to call 911."

24-year-old Tony Frank was arrested on the strangulation charge, he already had a warrant out for his arrest for failing to appear in court on a prior charge
