Informal and Casual Family Fishing Day Coming to Frenchtown Pond
There are no registration fees or reservations required. Just kick off Mother's Day weekend with some family fishing fun.
"Explore at Frenchtown Pond" invites you to join them at Frenchtown Pond State Park for Family Fishing Day, this Saturday, May 7. The event will go from 10:00 a.m. till 2:00 p.m., but you can stay as long as you want if everybody is having a good time.
Explore at Frenchtown Pond has reserved the park's west shelter. Enjoy a day of fishing, swimming, kayaking, tubing, canoeing, non-motorized boating, yard games, nice playground equipment for the kids and more.
Bring whatever gear you want. But if the tackle box is a little light right now, they will also have fishing equipment to borrow if needed. Singles, couples, families...everyone is welcome.
Frenchtown Pond State Park is located 17 miles west of Missoula on I-90. The park is a day-use-only site. Amenities include two group-use shelters available to reserve, two small shelters, numerous picnic tables and barbecues, two comfort stations, a playground and fishing dock and more than a mile of pedestrian and bike trail that circles the pond. It is an awesome, scenic walk, most of which is right along the water's edge.
Frenchtown Pond State Park also is the site of an American Legion Flag and Veterans Memorial.
If you're new to the park or it's been awhile, please remember that no dogs are allowed. And do try to join in the fun at Family Fishing Day this Saturday!
