"Weird Al" Yankovic's polka medleys of popular songs have long been a staple of his albums. Now, he's applied it to the biggest thing to hit Broadway in years. You can listen to "The Hamilton Polka" above.

In his inimitable fashion, Yankovic has taken 14 songs from Lin-Manuel Miranda's Hamilton: An American Musical and given them a polka arrangement, adding typically irreverent sound effects like a cash register, slide whistle and a cat yelping. Over the course of five minutes, he sings bits of "Alexander Hamilton," "Wait for It," "The Schuyler Sisters," "Yorktown (The World Turned Upside Down)," "Dear Theodosia," "You'll Be Back," "The Room Where It Happens," "Right Hand Man," "Guns and Ships," "Washington on Your Side," "Helpless," "Non-Stop," "History Has Its Eyes on You" and then "My Shot," finishing it off with another quote from "Alexander Hamilton."

It's the third installment of Miranda's "Hamildrops" series, where he's releasing new content related to the musical from other artists. It began in December 2017 with the Decemberists recording of "Ben Franklin's Song," a track Miranda wrote that was left out of the show. January featured a remix of The Hamilton Mixtape's "Wrote My Way Out," which included contributions by Royce Da 5'9", Joyner Lucas, Black Thought and Aloe Blacc. Even though it is March, "The Hamilton Polka" is February's Hamildrop, with Miranda dubbing today (March 2) "February 30" as a way of excusing its lateness.
