New guidelines regarding 2020 high school graduation ceremonies were sent out in a letter to Montana District and County Superintendents today. The letter was sent by Superintendent of Public Instruction, Elsie Arntzen, along with representatives from the Board of Public Education, and administrators from across Montana. The guidelines advise high school administrators and educators to continue distance learning throughout the rest of the school year, and to refrain from in person graduation ceremonies. Recommendations included postponing graduations until later this year.

Meanwhile, people have taken to social media to post their own senior photos and to offer words of support to the class of 2020, who are missing their final few weeks of high school with their friends, and whose prom and graduation plans are shot.
