During the COVID-19 outbreak, Costco is allowing healthcare workers and first responders 'front of the line' privileges to enter the warehouses. Very convenient on days there's a line before it opens. Here's how it works...

According to the official release from Costco on Wednesday 4/8/2020:

U.S. and Canada Costco locations are temporarily allowing priority warehouse access during all open hours to healthcare workers and first responders, such as police officers, EMTs and firefighters. Healthcare workers and first responders who present a Costco membership card and official identification of their role, will be given priority access.

  • You must be a Costco member with their membership card to put this privilege to use AND must show valid ID or certification of their qualifying profession.
  • U.S. Costco warehouses will allow no more than two people to enter the warehouse with each membership card.
  • Costco will be closed Sunday, April 12, 2020.
  • Until further notice, Costco warehouses will open from 8 to 9 a.m. Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday for members ages 60 and older, and for people with disabilities. The pharmacy will be open, but the Costco Food Court will be closed during these hours.
