For the last two years, The Decemberists have held their Travelers' Rest Music Festival at Big Sky brewing in Missoula, with artists playing like The Head and the Heart, Belle & Sebastian, and Mavis Staples. Unfortunately, it looks like we won't get a third year of the festival in 2019.

A fan asked Decemberists lead singer Colin Meloy whether it would be back this year on Twitter, and he responded by saying, "Ah yes: we're giving it a skip this year. Maybe back next year? We'll keep everyone posted."

So, that's not all bad! It sounds like Meloy and co. want to keep the festival going, just not right away (they've also been careful not to call it an annual fest in the past, and now we know why). Between Big Sky and Kettlehouse, we've got more than enough shows in Missoula to tide us over this summer, but I do hope things come together in 2020.

Are you bummed about the lack of a Travelers' Rest festival this year?
