18 year-old Chase Munson, already in jail on $1 million bond for attempted deliberate homicide for shooting two people at the South Avenue Market in March, appeared in District Court on Tuesday to face charges from separate incidents.

According to court documents, Munson has been charged with eight counts of earlier crimes, including burglary, theft and criminal mischief, all felonies. Munson is accused of using stolen vehicles to crash into two medical marijuana dispensaries and a cellular phone business from January through March. causing thousands of dollars in damage to the vehicles and the businesses.  Police said surveillance video showed that Munson was responsible for the thefts and the damage.

Deputy County Attorney Mac Bloom said that Munson appeared in Missoula District Court on Tuesday to face the charges.

“We filed eight counts against Mr. Munson and he appeared yesterday and entered not guilty pleas to all those counts,” said Bloom. “The burglaries are punishable by up to 20 years in the state prison, the criminal mischief punishable by up to 10 years. That brings the total up to 90 years in the Montana State Prison.”

Munson will appear on those charges again in July.

The charges on Tuesday are not directly related to the South Avenue Market, where Munson faces charges of attempted deliberate homicide, burglary, criminal mischief and theft. He is already being held on $1 million bail. The minimum sentence is not less than 10 years and not more that 100 years in the Montana State Prison.
