We've seen all kinds of shortages over the last 18 months thanks to COVID - toilet paper, jet fuel, foam, lifeguards... some of these things are stuff we could have seen coming, and others are stuff that definitely did not. Like, who would have thought COVID would cause a hay shortage in Montana?

And here's another one that you may not have expected - Missoula is now facing a breast milk shortage. So wait, how does that work exactly?

Well, it's like this - the Mother's Milk Bank of Montana is a place where women donate breast milk for babies that are underweight or perhaps placed into foster care, or else they may be experiencing formula intolerance. There are many reasons why families might choose to go someplace like the Mother's Milk Bank, which is located in Missoula and is the first bank of its kind in the entire state.

And unlike many other places, Mother's Milk Bank thrived during the pandemic - six months in, their donations started surging, and they were even able to put more work into their scholarship program as a result. But as the months have gone on, and as things started to open up more, those donations started to dwindle. They've had to put the scholarship program on hold while they wait for more donations to come in.

If you're interested in donating or just want to learn more about what Mother's Milk Bank does, you can visit them at their website right here.

Every beach town has its share of pluses and minuses, which got us thinking about what makes a beach town the best one to live in. To find out, Stacker consulted data from WalletHub, released June 17, 2020, that compares U.S. beach towns. Ratings are based on six categories: affordability, weather, safety, economy, education and health, and quality of life. The cities ranged in population from 10,000 to 150,000, but they had to have at least one local beach listed on TripAdvisor. Read the full methodology here. From those rankings, we selected the top 50. Readers who live in California and Florida will be unsurprised to learn that many of towns featured here are in one of those two states.
