At least six people have tested positive for COVID-19 in Ravalli County. The Tuesday report from Ravalli County Public Health said the six are part of a cluster of 9 males infected together by a person who had travelled outside of the county. As of late in the day May 19, three tests were awaiting confirmation by the Montana Public Health and Human Services lab. Of those testing positive, four are in the 10-20 age range and two are in their 60s. According to Public Health Director Karyn Johnston, the initial case, a man in his 60s, was hospitalized Sunday and the others are isolated at home. Hoping to stop community spread, Public Health contact tracing identified over 30 other people in the area who are now in quarantine. And the investigation is continuing.

Until now, only six Ravalli County people had tested positive for the novel coronavirus - one as recent as this past weekend. Health officials urged people to continue their hygiene practices, including frequent handwashing and physical distancing.
