Saturday, August 22, the Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services added 167 new positive tests for COVID-19 in the state. The majority of the cases were in Yellowstone County with 84 reports. Flathead County had 20, Big Horn with 14 and there were 10 cases in Rosebud County. Elsewhere in the state's counties, Gallatin - 7, Glacier - 6. There were 3 each in Cascade, Lewis & Clark, Roosevelt and Silver Bow Counties, 2 each in Phillips, Pondera, Ravalli and Richland Counties, and 1 each in Beaverhead, Dawson, Deer Lodge and Hill Counties. There have been 90 deaths from the coronavirus so far in Montana. Currently there are 1,471 active cases, with 110 people hospitalized.

In Ravalli County Friday, Public Health reported 3 new cases, bringing the active case number in the county up to 7 - one of those people is hospitalized. Public Information Officer Joseph Hopkins said if you have had a known exposure to someone with COVID-19, please self-quarantine and call Public Health for further guidance.
