New Marriott Hotel Opens in Downtown Missoula

After years of development, it's finally happened - HomeBase Partners have unveiled their new Marriott Hotel in Downtown Missoula where the Mercantile once stood.

It's been three years since the Missoula Mercantile was torn down to make way for the new Marriott, but there are touches throughout the new building that are meant to evoke the old building and Missoula's rich downtown history. The idea is for it to represent a new chapter in the ever-evolving downtown scene.

There are still things that are being worked on, and they aim to have a more formal grand opening sometime in the spring. How do you feel about the Marriott replacing the Mercantile?
