The annual gathering of athletic maniacs is returns to NW Montana. The Spartan race has returned to Montana, and it is better than ever. Taking your average "fun runs" and adding the warrior spirit.

What is the Spartan Race?

Spartan Race is a series of obstacle races of varying distance and difficulty ranging from 3 miles to marathon distances. They are held in US and have been franchised to 30 countries including Canada, South Korea, Australia and several European countries. The series include the Spartan Sprint, the Spartan Super, the Spartan Beast, and the Spartan Ultra.

These obstacles included in the races are mostly ancient Greek themed. Obstacles like the "Herculean Hoist," or even the "Tyrolean Traverse." Obstacles even include having to throw ancient Greek weapons like spears.

This race becomes more an more popular each year. So much so, that much of this years event is already sold out. But, a few of the 2021 Spartan Race events are still available.

The "Ultra" event on Saturday May 1st, has very few tickets remaining.

According to race.spartan.com, the Ultra race includes:

Spartan Ultra is a 50 km, 60 obstacle race built to break your limits over the world’s most difficult terrain. It’s our most intense obstacle course race, but reaching the finish line will leave you with a euphoria that will transform your life. The Ultra is a Spartan Trifecta eligible event.

Also available, "The Beast" also has a decent amount of tickets remaining for the race on May 1st.

According to race.spartan.com, the Beast race includes:

Spartan Beast is a half marathon, 30 obstacle race engineered to push you out of your comfort zone and right up to your limits. Competitors race through rugged, unpredictable terrain around the world as they tackle each of our signature obstacles. The Beast is a Spartan Trifecta eligible event.
