Image Supports Planned Parenthood With Women’s History Month Covers

Image Comics is celebrating its 25th anniversary this year, and as part of that a select number of its comics each month will feature a variant cover tied to a certain theme. While this month has Image titles with variants based on other Image titles, March is Women's History Month and to celebrate, eleven of Image's titles will feature special variants with 100% of the proceeds going to Planned Parenthood.

The variants, in keeping with the theme of the month, put some of the titles' female stars front and center, such as Mao Xiaolian of Jonathan Hickman, Nick Dragotta and Frank Martin's East of West, and The Morrigan from Kieron GIllen, Jamie McKelvie and Matthew Wilson's The Wicked + The Divine. The variants also highlight some of the most talented women in the industry today, with artists likes Nicola Scott, Leslie Hung, and Emi Lenox contributing to the theme month.

In a statement provided by the publisher, director of sales Corey Murphy said:

“Women have come a long way in this country, and the progress that’s been made is in part due to the efforts Planned Parenthood has made in sex education and affordable, preventative healthcare. I’m extremely proud to be a part of a company that’s unafraid to take a stance in supporting a non-profit that’s recently been under fire. This month we celebrate Women’s History, the strides the women have made in the comics industry, and the difference that everyone—male and female—has made by coming together in spreading equality.”
