About one thousand people toured the new Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital surgical center Friday. With the facility nearing completion, the afternoon grand opening included self-guided tours "Behind the Red Line" - the areas that are strictly off-limits to the public to guard against contamination after the center officially opens. A ribbon cutting was held at 5:30 p.m. (see photo below)

Doctors and medical staff described the innovations that the new $15 million center brings to the Bitterroot Valley - including three operating rooms, 14 private pre/post operative rooms, five post anesthesia care unit beds and DaVinci Robotic surgery. The 26,000 square foot addition to the Hamilton hospital will include surgical specialties including neurosurgery, obstetric and gynecologic surgery, orthopedics and sport medicine, eye surgery, urology blue-light laser, podiatry and colonoscopy and endoscopy procedures.
