The worldwide "March For Science" had a peaceful contingent crowd of marchers in Hamilton on Earth Day, April 22.

The marchers, carrying signs that promoted everything from water science to climate change, walked along US 93 in the middle of Hamilton at mid-morning Saturday. They caused traffic to slow at times as they crossed the four-lane road at the crosswalks.

The March for Science demonstrations were carried out at locations in many countries, with photos and videos shared on social media.

The March for Science website cited the goals of the Earth Day event as "to highlight the valuable public service role science plays in society and policy and demonstrate the deep public support for science." The organizers were hoping to keep the movement active following Earth Day.
