Extravagant New Sports Bar to Open Near Missoula
It is safe to say that Montana loves sports. Everything from professional logger sports to professional football. But, unfortunately, Montana does not have the means to host many professional sports teams. Sure, places like Billings have had their share of semi-pro teams--indoor football leagues, semi-pro basketball, and a handful of hockey teams. But, Montana is mostly all about high school and college sports. Even those can be a grueling task to watch live with travel distances being so long in such a large state. This could be why we need proper places to post up and watch our favorite sports.
Gray Wolf Peak Casino announces fabulous new sports bar.
According to Gray Wolf Peak Casino, the new sports bar is named after a professional football player born on the Flathead Reservation who is a member of the Confederated Salish and Kootenai Tribe.
The Lassaw is named after Nick Lasso (like Robert RidesattheDoor, the family shortened and simplified the name) who played in the NFL in the early 1920s and is a legend of the Salish Kootenai tribe. One of the earliest and most colorful football characters, though largely forgotten, marked the association between and the NFL and the Confederated Salish & Kootenai Tribes (CSKT). Tribal member Nick Lassa played guard in the NFL in 1922 and 1923 with the Oorang Indians, an all–Native American team based in La Rue, Ohio.
Lassaw Sports Bar is hosting a Grand Opening ceremony on Thursday, August 11. The event kick-off begins at 5 pm with FREE BBQ until 9 pm and continues through the night with live entertainment, drink specials, and loads of giveaways, including a Callaway Strata 16-piece golf club set with bag, bar tabs, food comps, Cash, Xtra Credit drawings and more!
