Billie Joe Armstrong is making a point to have fun with his new project, the Longshot. Despite no reports on turmoil in the Green Day camp, fans have been asking Armstrong if this marks the end of the legendary pop punk band, and Billie Joe has answered with a stern “Shut the fuck up.”

The Longshot surprised released their debut album, Love is For Losers, on 4/20. They’ve also been playing shows throughout California this month, playing originals along with a bunch of covers from Green Day, the Ramones, Ozzy Osbourne and more.

Armstrong went live on Instagram last night (April 26) railing on anyone who had a problem with Billie Joe spending time away from Green Day. "Some of you are asking about Green Day and if there’s anything wrong, or if we’re breaking up. The answer is no,” Armstrong said.

"I'm having some fun with some of my friends. I'm what you call a musician. Some people have a hard time calling it that sometimes. With that said, shut the fuck up. You’re a fucking whiner. I’m playing music because that’s what I’m supposed to do. That’s what people that play guitar, and drums, and bass, and they sing – this is what we do. So if you don’t like it, then fuck off. And if you do like it, come along, because it’s a lot of fun. All right? Have a pleasant day."

Well, at least we know Green Day isn’t going anywhere. The Longshot have a bunch of North American tour dates coming up, so click here and see if they’re coming your way.
