A Great Blue Heron Is Successful At Bitterroot Fishing

The title of this sequence, captured by Mike Daniels, is "Big Splash, Little Fish." It was one of a Great Blue Heron's several successful efforts within minutes at the Lee Metcalf National Wildlife Refuge recently. Above, the bird had been slowly stalking the edges of a pond and suddenly stops. Scroll down and look closely at the bird's beak in the final photo.
