A Couple of Missoula Winter Farmers Market Reminders for You
Like so many communities, farmer's market-style events and venues are part of the fabric that makes up Missoula.
And while we make sure they get publicized at the start of the season, we thought maybe this would be a good time to remind you that a couple of those winter markets are still going strong. Both still have a month or more on their schedule calendar.
Southgate Mall is host to the Indoor Winter Farmers' Market in the former Lucky's Foods location. This one is pretty well known and features over 50 vendors with products ranging from local food and farms goods to handmade craft items and art. The market is continuing to operates every Saturday through April 17th, 2021. Hours of operation are 9:00am - 2:00pm. It has worked out well, with much more space and much more parking compared to the old location at the Missoula Senior Citizens Center on Higgins Avenue.
Masks are required, and there will be clearly defined entrances and exits to keep the flow of traffic in one direction.
Another market that may not get as much attention as it deserves is the Winter Market at Orchard Homes Country Life Club, at 2537 South Third West in Missoula, held on Saturdays 9:00 am -1:00 pm though March 27. They are a small, local market located in the parking lot of the Country Life Club. Selling produce has been part of the club's history for 100 years!
The market offers produce, crafts, jams and jellies, baked goods, jewelry, flowers and other items. All the produce at the market comes from within Orchard Homes and travels less than a mile to get to market!
How fresh is that?
