If you're into funny people being vicious to each other, here's the event for you.

Revival Comedy is putting on their second annual insult battle filled with all kinds of local talent. This is going to be a ton of fun - comedians tend to insult people better than anyone else, and when they're pitted against each other, the sparks will fly.

(I used to watch the HBO show Crashing, which was about Pete Holmes' life as a comedian, and there was a whole episode about an insult battle like this one - you may want to check that out to get a feel for what the evening might be like.)

It'll be happening at the Badlander on January 14th from 8 PM to 10 PM.

Here's all the info from their Facebook event page:

It's time for Revival Comedy's second annual insult battle!

We're pitting some of the funniest people in town against each other to see who comes out on top. It's going to be funny and mean and mean and mean.

2019 Champion Lenny Peppers will defend her crown.
And hosted as always by Charley Macorn!

Featuring the following battles:

Tim Miller Vs. Lenny Peppers
Aaron Juhl Vs. Becky Margolis
Kyle McAfee Vs. Carole Forry
Nathan Patrick St Onge Vs Jordan Demander
Amy Carroll Vs. Lynn Solomon
Kev Hamm Vs. August Ansley
Austin Valley Vs. Allysa Calabrese
Christian Grant Vs. Katherine Hosbein

Here's the structure:

Each pair will trade insults back and forth (the person who starts is decided with a coin toss). There are five minutes for insults—that's about 10 short insults (or 250 words) each. You can write your insults ahead of time or improvise them. They can be personal or general.

IMPORTANT: each insult battle will end with a compliment or two.

The winner of each insult battle (determined by our host Charley) will move on to a semi-final and final round. Contestants will have 5-10 minutes between rounds to write sets for their next opponent.

Suggest door donation of $3. Winner takes home the pot, runner-up receives $50.
