Taylor Sheridan is a man of many talents. He is the creator of "Yellowstone" which has had a very successful run on television and has spawned a multitude of spinoffs with a lot of them not only being set in Montana, but filmed in Montana as well.

"Yellowstone" Has Multiple Spin-Offs

"Yellowstonef" started it all with the story of the Dutton family ranch located in Montana starring Kevin Costner. Then came "1883", the story of the Dutton family's move from Texas to Montana, starring Tim McGraw and Faith Hill. Followed by "1923", that stars Harrison Ford and Hellen Miirren that continues the Dutton family story and is filmed in Butte. It also has been reported that there will be a spinoff, called "1944" that will star Matthew McConaughey and will be filmed in the Bitterroot Valley in Montana.

Lawmen: Bass Reeves Will be Based on a True Story

You can now add a new story to the long list of creations from Taylor Sheridan. According to the Hollywood Reporter the latest enterprise will be titled "Lawmen: Bass Reeves" and it will be an anthology series. They have just cast Donald Sutherland to be a part of this new show, he will be playing Judge Isaac Parker. Bass Reeves will be played by David Oyelowo, the first Black deputy U.S. Marshall west of the Mississippi, and is based on a true story.

Lawmen: Bass Reeves will be not be a show filmed in Montana. They are currently shooting in Texas. Look for "Lawmen: Bass Reeves" to be coming to the Paramount + streaming service.
