We’ve all seen the memes about the DMV in other states sending you home because you don’t have your social security card or something ridiculous like the Declaration of Independence(I’m kidding… sort of.) Well, I had an amazing experience at the DMV here compared to my home state.

It's Organized

Firstly, the fact there are different buildings for different things is so awesome. In other states, the place to conduct your driving test, renew your license, and register your car are all under the same roof with a three-hour wait time. Here it’s in the same center, but there are different buildings. This makes it so much more efficient to make an appointment and go in and out.

Friendly Staff

Secondly, the staff is very friendly. In my home state, the employees at the DMV do not look happy at all and are not friendly. Here when I was renewing my Driver’s License the woman at the front desk was so kind and helpful and answered my questions not being condescending and with a smile on her face.

Also, the people who helped me retake my photo and fill out my information were patient. I had filled out the wrong form online. In my home state, they would’ve sent me home and scolded me for filling out the wrong form. The gentleman behind the counter helped me fill out the form that I needed quickly and efficiently. He even allowed me to retake my photo one more time because I didn’t like my first photo. Other states wouldn’t let you do that.

The MVD is organized and efficient. The staff is friendly and not condescending like in other states. I love the MVD and it doesn’t feel like a chore to get my car registered or my license renewed.
