Western Montana Fair: How to Beat the Odds on the Carnival Midway

Every year I try at least once to win a stuffed animal the size of a VW Bug. Every year I FAIL! Just like a casino, we know that the odds are in favor of the house. On the midway carnival games, the odds are nearly impossible to beat. But, with a little knowledge of how the games work, you might be able to pull off the BIG WIN this year at the Western Montana Fair.

According to mentalfloss.com, the 5 most commonly "fixed" games are:

1. KNOCK OVER THE MILK BOTTLES

These bottles are heavy. Sometimes filled with sand. Not to mention the ball you get is light and super soft.

2. BALLOON DART THROW

You might as well put feathers on a rusty spoon and try to throw it. These darts are super dull. Making it hard for them to barely pop a bubble, let alone a balloon.

3. FREE THROW

These hoops are far smaller than what you are used to shooting hoops with. There is little room for error, forcing a ton of missed shots.

4. RING TOSS

The rings are barely larger than the bottles. Not to mention they are hard plastic. Making it easier to bounce off of the bottle.

5. BALL BOUNCE

The angle you toss the ball plays a huge role in this game. But, the hidden spring in the bottom of the basket doesn't help matters though.
