Troye Sivan is ready to dip his toes back into acting.

The pop star will star in Boy Erased, an upcoming film adaptation of Garrad Conley's 2016 memoir of the same name written about his time spent in a gay conversion camp as a teen.

Sivan will appear in the film alongside Nicole Kidman, Cherry Jones, Russell Crowe, Xavier Dolan, Lucas Hedges, The Red Hot Chilli Peppers’ Flea and Joel Edgerton, who is directing the project, Variety reports.

On Twitter, Sivan, who is openly out, gushed about the role.

"Guys, I’m so shook at this. This movie is gonna be so important and I’m [honored] to be a part of it," he wrote.

However, this won't be Sivan's first movie role. In 2009, he made his big screen debut in X-Men Origins: Wolverine. He also starred in the South African comedy franchise Spud between 2010 and 2014.

Boy Erased is due for a 2018 theatrical release.
