If there's a big, public event that draws in a lot of people that you were looking forward to this year, I've got some bad news for you - it's likely either been cancelled, or postponed. The ongoing pandemic has made it difficult to do a lot of things we would normally do, and some of the biggest events that people attend every year have had to call it off for 2020.

And now, you can add another one to that list - the Montana State Fair, which was scheduled to run from July 24th through August 1st at the Montana ExpoPark in Great Falls, has officially been cancelled for this year.

There was some back and forth internally about whether it was worth holding the Fair this year - if it were to take place, they'd have to do some under pretty strict social distancing guidelines. And that's tough to do when the fair typically brings in around eight or nine thousand people per day. It's also noted that any plans to have the fair would require Phase Three of Montana's re-opening to already be underway, which will still be a little while from now. As we learned this week, Phase Two of the opening is going to begin on June 1st.

It's not a surprise to see the state fair cancelled, but it is still a bummer, especially as an annual event that people look forward to all year. Were you planning on attending the Montana State Fair this year?
