In a time where the future of movie theaters is pretty uncertain, The Roxy Theater has been doing all it can to stay afloat and keep bringing movies to Missoula - they've teamed up with the Missoula Paddleheads for Centerfield Cinema all summer long (and continuing through October!), they've moved events like the Montana Film Festival online, and they've allowed people to rent out a theater for a private movie screening while the theater is still closed to the public.

And one of the cooler things they've managed is the opening of The Roxy Garden, an outdoor, socially-distant space behind the theater where they can show movies and have other small events like trivia or comedy nights. I've been there a few times now, and it's such a peaceful, chill spot. It also helps that they've been showing some pretty great movies.

It's unclear how late into the season they'll be able to keep the Garden open (I'm sure once it starts really snowing, they'll have to shut down for a couple of months), but for now, it's going strong. And the full lineup of movies has finally been announced for October, with each movie playing for three nights, on Fridays, Saturdays, and Sundays.

Here's what we're looking at for October:

10/2, 10/3, 10/4 - Rear Window

10/9, 10/10, 10/11 - Hedwig and the Angry Inch

10/16, 10/17, 10/18 - What We Do In The Shadows

10/23, 10/24, 10/25 - The Thing

10/30, 10/31, 11/1 - Halloween

That's a pretty killer lineup right there, especially leading into Halloween. I mean, you've got the original Halloween playing on Halloween night, plus another John Carpenter classic, a beloved musical, a hilarious horror-comedy, and an all-timer Alfred Hitchcock movie. If you want tickets, I'd recommend acting fast - The Roxy Garden is small and tends to sell out pretty quick. You can buy those - and see what else the Roxy is currently offering - at their website right here.
