The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services reported on Monday afternoon that the state has recorded its first two cases of COVID 19 caused by the new Omicron variant.
According to the Missoula City County Health Department, nearly 2000 children ages 5 to 11 already have appointments to receive the child dose of the COVID vaccine.
Monday was the first day that children age 5 to 11 could be vaccinated against COVID 19, and the Missoula City County Health Department hosted a special clinic just for children at their Southgate Mall location.
The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services confirmed on Thursday that the first confirmed case of influenza in the state is a child from Flathead County.
Since the task of contacting positive COVID 19 cases and their close contacts takes up so much time of health department employees, they will now be automating some contact functions.
