The Montana Department of Public Health and Human Services noted 113 new positive tests for COVID-19 in the Sunday, August 2, mid-morning report. That brings the state total so far to 4,193, with 61 deaths, 2,466 recovered, 1,666 active cases and 72 people currently hospitalized.

The numbers have been in the triple digits for many days now. By county, Yellowstone had a huge jump with 50 new reports, followed by Big Horn with 19, and Missoula and Flathead Counties each with 10. Gallatin County had 6 positive tests and Glacier listed 3. There were 2 each in Cascade, Lewis and Clark, Silver Bow and Valley Counties. And 1 new case in the counties of Blaine, Carbon, Chouteau, Lake, Lincoln, Madison and Park. Health officials remind the public to continue the precautions - wash your hands often, wear masks in public, and keep your social distances. The next report will be mid-morning Monday, August 3.
