Testing Friday, March 13, showed four "presumptively positive" cases in Montana of the novel Coronavirus. The announcement late Friday came from Governor Steve Bullock. The tests from the Montana Department of Health and Human Services await confirmation from the Centers for Disease Control. State tests found the COVID-19 virus in a man in his 40s from Gallatin County, a woman in her 50s from Yellowstone County, a a man in his 50s from Silver Bow and a man in his 50s from Broadwater County, who was tested in Lewis and Clark County. The announcement came only hours after President Trump declared a national emergency dealing with the virus outbreak. Montana had been one of the only states not reporting cases of the disease, but health officials are expecting that now that testing is becoming more available, more cases will be confirmed. So far, 107 people have been tested by the DPHHS. The affected county health departments will be checking the four patients' exposure risk and their travel history. The four patients are now isolated.

More public event cancellations have been announced. All State high school basketball tournaments have been halted. That includes the Class AA, A, B and C tournaments. After Friday night's games, the tournaments were cancelled. Elsewhere, Butte's St. Patrick's Day Parade has been cancelled. The state COVID-19 information line is 1-888-333-0461.
