Some Local Missoula Bands Will Be Featured in New Netflix Film

A new movie set to debut on Netflix is enlisting a couple of Missoula bands to help fill out its soundtrack.

The movie is called Juanita, and tells the story of a woman looking for a fresh start who moves to a town called Paper Moon, Montana. The movie will get a little bit of local flavor with songs from Russ Nasset and the Revelators, plus Louie Bond and the Texas Playgirl. Both bands will have songs featured on the soundtrack and will actually appear in the film itself.

The movie stars Alfre Woodard from Netflix's Luke Cage as the main character and it's directed by Clark Johnson, known for his acting roles on Bosch and The Wire.

No release date is set for the movie yet, but hopefully we'll see it sooner rather than later. Anyone out there excited to see some local talent get the spotlight on a major platform like Netflix?
