Singer/guitarist Daniel Ash and drummer Kevin Haskins, who shared tenures together in Bauhaus, Tones on Tail, and Love and Rockets during the '80s and '90s, are back together with a new band they've dubbed Poptone.

The new project, which features Haskins' daughter Diva Dompe on vocals, has announced plans for a U.S. tour this summer, during which they'll perform songs by all three of Ash and Haskins' former bands. Although a complete list of dates has yet to be announced, they're slowly starting to trickle out; Poptone's first show, scheduled for April 20 at Swing House Studios in Los Angeles, has already sold out. A second night has been added for April 21, with tickets on sale now.

As Ash told Bluetint Magazine, the idea for Poptone started to coalesce after he realized he was itching to get out and play live again following a long layoff in which he was "not feeling it at all." As he'd proven in the past, Haskins was a natural fit.

"Me and Kevin get along really well, like a house on fire, we’re really different personalities, which is why it probably works," noted Ash. "He’s an obvious choice, he’s played in all three bands, Bauhaus, Tones on Tail, and Love and Rockets. We’ve been searching for a bass player, and to make a long story short, Diva his daughter plays bass, and we auditioned her and she plays great, she looks great and the chemistry is great."

It obviously remains to be seen where Poptone goes following the tour, but for the moment, Ash is nothing but excited. "It’s a bit like a kid in a candy shop, basically," he added. "It’s all exciting and fun again. Never thought I’d be doing this again, but it all feels completely right."
