The Hamilton Broncs fell to the Polson Pirates in a loser-out game at the State A basketball tournament in Butte. The final score was Polson 51 Hamilton 45.

The Friday afternoon game brought the two Western A conference teams together again this season. But this time, the winner continued on the tourney and the loser went home.

At the end of the first quarter, Polson had gone out to an early lead 19 to 14, but Hamilton only trailed by two at the half, 28 to 26. The teams stayed close in scoring in the third quarter, but Polson still led at the end of the quarter 37-33. The teams were within two points with minutes left in the game, but the Pirates broke out ahead, scoring the last points.

By winning, Polson advances to the Saturday morning loser-out bracket against the loser of the Dillon-Butte Central Friday night.

Earlier in the day, Belgrade defeated Hardin 68-67 to continue to the Saturday morning game at 11 a.m. They play the loser of Billings Central - Laurel game Friday night.
