New Service Allows Missoulians to Purchase Locally Sourced Meat

A new website has launched for Western Montanans looking to support local farmers and buy only locally sourced meat.

The mission of Mountain Meat Shares is to source whole animals from local farmers. Shares of frozen meat are delivered to Missoula monthly on a subscription basis. Enjoy delicious, locally sourced meat while supporting farmers right here in the Five Valleys.

I spoke with Mountain Meat Shares founder, and lifelong farmer, Jen on my Alt 101.5 morning show and she explained how the service works. It's really pretty simple, you subscribe online and pick up your box of meat on the first Tuesday of each month at Imagine Nation Brewing. Bonus, you get to pick up your chow AND enjoy a great local brew!

Boxes come in 2 sizes, 5-7 pounds and 10-12 pounds. The first delivery will be on Tuesday, November 7th from 4 - 6 p.m. Get more info here!
