Family Fun at Free Old Fashioned Christmas Event in Missoula

It is sure nice to be able to promote family events like this one after a year when so many traditions had to be cancelled.

And while Crazy COVID remains on the loose, it is with lots of optimism that a wonderful family-style event scheduled in Missoula over the Thanksgiving weekend will provide another entertainment option for you.

The National Museum of Forest Service History, a Missoula nonprofit, is hosting its 3rd annual “Old Fashioned Forest Service Christmas” on Saturday, November 27th, from Noon to 3 pm. This family event will be held at the Museum's beautiful 31-acre campus one mile west of the Missoula Airport, 6305 Highway 10 West.

The event will feature an opportunity to go on free horse-drawn wagon rides. The kiddos can go on a scavenger hunt. You can get down during the snow pants dance (your guess is as good as ours). Refreshments and a campfire, too. And what would a Forest Service Christmas be without appearances by Smokey Bear and Woodsy Owl, and of course, Santa!

There is no admission charge to the Old Fashioned Christmas, thanks to the generosity of local Missoula businesses Horizon Credit Union, Blackfoot Communications, JCCS, Pepsi and Big Sky Wealth Management.
