More evacuations have been ordered in the Lolo Peak Fire.

The Inciweb page for the Lolo Peak Fire states the following.

‘As of 10 PM on Wednesday 8/16, there is an EVACUATION ORDER to immediately leave the area per Missoula County Sheriff's Office. Do not delay, fire conditions present an immediate threat to people and homes from mile post 31.5 to 21.5 on both sides of Highway 12. This includes Fort Fizzle to Balsam Root Road on both sides of Highway 12 as well as Portions of Mormon Creek Road past and including Vann Drive.’

Missoula County Sheriff’s Captain Bill Burt told KGVO News that all residences between mile markers 21.5 and 31.5 (a ten-mile stretch) on U.S. Highway 12 are under evacuation orders. This does NOT include Sleeman Creek Road.

In addition, the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office Fire Information Line says:

“As of 9:00 p.m. on Wednesday, August 16, there is an evacuation order to immediately leave the area per the Missoula County Sheriff’s Office,” the evacuation line said. “Do not delay. Wildfire conditions present an immediate threat to homes west of the Highway 93 corridor from milepost 78 to 82.

This includes all homes from the Sun Valley Road to just north of  McClay Ranch Road west of Highway 93.

Evacuees must check in at the trailer set up at the intersection of  Highway 93 and Highway 12 at the weigh station south of Town Pump.

The Red Cross will open a shelter at the University Congregational Church at 405 University Avenue in Missoula.

Ravalli County Sheriff Steve Holton said on Wednesday night that an evacuation warning is now in effect for the area west of Highway 93 from the north side of Tie Chute lane northwards into Missoula County.
