Nice! Can You Make the Absolute Funniest Montana History Meme?
Do you consider yourself an expert meme-maker? Do your friends alternately laugh and groan at your Facebook page, which is constantly updated every thirty minutes with a new meme reacting to the latest viral news story? If so, we've got a contest for you!
It's Time for History to Re-Meme Itself
According to KPAX, the Montana State Library is hosting a historical meme-making contest. So what exactly does that mean?
First, you head over to Montana Memory Project, where you'll find tons of old pictures from throughout Montana history. From there, you download one of the pictures that you think you can create the best meme out of. Go to a site like ImgFlip and you'll be able to upload the picture and create a meme out of it.
I decided to mess around with it a bit and ended up with this - which maybe isn't the most creative, but I'm happy with it.
How Do You Submit Your Entry?
Take your meme and send it in an email to firstname.lastname@example.org with the subject, "Historical Photo Meme Contest." Include your name, your meme, the link to the original photo, and your age group. The rules prohibit any swearing or mean-spirited entries.
You've got until May 13th to get your entry in - then the library staff will select the finalists and online voting will occur from May 20th through May 27th.
