In the wake of another recent wave of mass shootings, one of which took place in a Walmart store, Walmart announced today that they're going to cease the sale of handgun ammunition across all of their stores nationwide.

Walmart is actually going one step further in Alaska, and discontinuing the sale of handguns entirely, leaving the focus solely on hunting rifles and related ammunition. Walmart is also asking its customers to not openly carry firearms in the store, even in states where that's legal.

Walmart is still selling the handgun ammo until their inventory runs out. It's a move that has drawn praise from advocates for stronger gun control, and definitely seems understandable given the current climate and Walmart's connection to the El Paso shooting.
