Another one bites the dust. It was sad enough living a Missoula summer with no Osprey/PaddleHeads baseball, now there won't be any organized softball for us to play either. This is quite a smack to the junk for a lot of Missoula players who have spent every summer that they can remember, playing softball. Bummer.

Today, July 17th, the Missoula Softball Association officially announced the cancellation of the remainder of the 2020 season, due to COVID-19 concerns. Organizers say they made significant efforts to come up with creative ways to keep ballgames going, but in the end, there was just no safe way to do it with masking and social distancing.

With the increase of cases along with accompanying state, local, and Missoula Parks & Rec restrictions, we've determined that continuing to play ball is no longer in the best interest of our players and our community. We are saddened to know our summer nights won't be filled with softball, but we look forward to coming back in 2021 bigger and better than ever.

For those of you who already paid and signed up with teams, a pro-rated refund will be coming your way for games not played. The MSA asks you to please be patient as they work out the details and that they will send more info as soon as possible, but they wanted to get this initial announcement out right away.
