Missoula Police Arrest Man for Indecent Exposure
On August 8, 2022, a Missoula Police Department officer was dispatched to a report of a man, later identified as 40-year-old Anthony Charlie, allegedly masturbating near Missoula Correctional Services. The 911 caller said Charlie was trying to get inside the building. Police Public Information Officer Lydia Arnold picks up the story.
“Charlie was known to the 911 caller and the 911 caller was able to identify Charlie since Charlie is on prerelease in Missoula,” Arnold said. “Officers were provided a description, the direction of travel, and located Charlie near where the caller had described him exposing himself.”
The officer arrived at Missoula Correctional Services and observed Charlie run out of the ditch towards the sidewalk, where another officer’s patrol car was parked.
Charlie was handcuffed and a hypodermic needle and metal pipe were found in his pockets. While Charlie was being searched, the officer overheard another officer telling Charlie, “stop trying to kiss me.” According to court documents, Charlie began humping the air and appeared to be trying to rub his body on the officer’s patrol car.
Charlie was arrested and transported to the Missoula County Detention Facility. During transport to the jail, Charlie continued to act inappropriately. During his search at the jail, Charlie was grinding his hips, moaning, and grunting in a sexual manner.
“The incident was described as very terrible and disgusting to those involved,” Arnold said. “Charlie continued to expose himself and make comments and body movements of a sexual nature throughout the entire contact with law enforcement and correction officers. This case is still under investigation with the Missoula Police Department.”
Charlie has a pending indecent exposure case in Missoula Municipal Court. He is currently being charged with felony indecent exposure.
