‘Missoula Gives’ Raises $786,000 for Nonprofit Organizations
The ‘Missoula Gives’ online fundraiser last week resulted in a total of $786,000 from the community to help support the area’s many nonprofit agencies.
Executive Director of the Missoula Community Foundation, Marcy Allen said it was a very special 24 hours.
“It was really an outstanding day that we launched on Thursday at five o’clock, and we started with more money than we had raised by the close of Thursday the year before, so we felt pretty good,” said Allen. “As of today, we have $786,000 raised.”
Allen said a large number of donors contributed the funds to help support Missoula’s nonprofit agencies and organizations.
“We have over 3,400 donors that made that possible,” she said. “I took a look at our statistics yesterday and I would say that almost half of our donors were under $100. It just shows the power of collective giving and the impact that we can have on our community if we all just give a little.”
Allen looked back on the experience and reflected on the generosity and support that flowed from the community.
“The thing that really resonated with me was the sense of community and the bonding together at this time whole raising much-needed funds for all those front line organizations and the organizations that are really important for the resiliency and vibrancy of the Missoula community.”
Allen closed by stating that she felt deeply fortunate to live in the Missoula community.
