Missoula County Suffers Fourth COVID 19 Death
The Missoula City County Health Department reported on Tuesday that a fourth Missoula County resident has died due to complications from COVID 19.
The individual was middle aged or older, however it was not reported when they died, whether the person was male or female, or whether the individual died at home or at a healthcare facility.
Information Officer Mary Parrish said all the information they are allowed to release was that the individual was middle aged or older, however it was not reported when they died, whether the person was male or female, or whether the individual died at home or at a healthcare facility.
Parrish said that no other information was released to protect the privacy of the victim’s family.
Missoula County is reporting 53 new COVID-19 cases since Monday. As of Tuesday afternoon, there are 409 active cases in Missoula County with more than 950 close contacts. Of the 409 currently active cases, 100 are associated with University of Montana staff, faculty, and students. Nine people remain hospitalized in Missoula County facilities, 4 of which are county residents.
Parrish wrote that the health department urges people to continue being supportive of each other and diligent about COVID prevention by practicing good hand-washing hygiene, limiting their social circles, maintaining six feet between others, wearing a proper face covering and staying home when experiencing any symptoms of illness.
As of Tuesday afternoon, the county has had 1,132 COVID-19 cases with 719 recoveries and 4 deaths.
