The newly completed Bitterroot bike trail will be the main route for the area Lions Clubs' "Bike for Sight" event Saturday, June 10.

Hamilton Lions Club officials said the main starting point will be Fort Missoula, especially for those who want to attempt the 100-mile loop from Missoula to Hamilton and back. Registration for the full ride is $55 and the rides are from 7 a.m. to 4 p.m. Smaller donations are being accepted the shorter length rides, which include a Hamilton to Victor ride and a "family ramble" around Fort Missoula.

There will be a BBQ at Fort Missoula at the end of the event.

Money raised by the event will support Montana Lions Clubs' sight preservation and restoration assistance. The Missoula, Lolo/Florence and Hamilton Lions Clubs are organizing the rides. Major sponsors include Rocky Mountain Eye Center, The Good Food Store, Bitter Root Brewery, Marcus Daly Memorial Hospital, Big Sky Eye Care, Bitterroot Drug and Tompkins and Peters CPA.

More details and registration available at the bike for sight website.
