Over 300 boxes of food and other essentials were distributed Saturday, December 21, in the Hamilton area by the Bitterroot Kiwanis Club members and other volunteers. The annual Kiwanis Food Drive started 45 years ago (Thank you Bill Delaney and Gail Lewis). The food helps those in need in the valley with supplies that will last more than a couple of days. The recipients are selected by various public support groups and the club members gather the food into grocery boxes (see photos) the day before the deliveries at the Hamilton High School commons area. The boxes are put together taking into account the size of individual families and age of kids. Many in the community donate to the drive. Merry Christmas!
