Suspicious Activity Leads to Drug Arrest in Missoula
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On March 17, 2025, Missoula Police Department Officers were dispatched to a report of suspicious activity taking place at S. 4th St. W and S. Catlin Street. The reporting party saw people smoking off of tinfoil in a white SUV. Officers responded and located a white SUV on 4th St. W.
Officers approached the vehicle and found two male occupants. The driver was immediately recognizable to law enforcement. The passenger provided a Montana ID card, which identified him as 58-year-old David Dilley. Both individuals were found to have arrest warrants.
Dilley was searched incident to arrest and an officer located a glass pipe with a bulbous end, two folded pieces of tinfoil, and a small ziplock plastic baggie with a crystalline substance in it. The substance was later tested via the TruNarc, which yielded a presumptive positive result for methamphetamine and had a total package weight of approximately 1.5 grams.
Additionally, from his training and experience, the officer recognized the pipe to be the same type of drug users typically use to smoke illegal drugs. The officer also knows that drug users smoke and store illegal drugs in small pieces of folded tinfoil.
Dilley was placed under arrest and was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center. During the intake search, a detention officer located plastic baggie containing three capped syringes. Additionally, within one of the pieces of tinfoil, a white powdery was observed. The officer has requested this item be submitted and tested by the Montana State Crime Lab.
