
High-Risk Police Pursuit After a Disturbance at a Missoula Apartment
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - At approximately 5:40 p.m. on March 13, 2025, a Missoula Police Department Officer heard dispatch advise of an in-progress disturbance at an apartment on Tina Avenue. The first reporting party, Jane Doe, reported to dispatch that her Ex, 42-year-old Ira Harrison Woolf, was trying to kick in the locked door to her apartment.
The dispatcher noted that they could hear the knocking on the call. According to court documents, two children were also in the apartment and they had gone into a locked back bedroom.
A second reporting party, who resides in another apartment, said a male was in the building stating that he had a gun, that he drove a Dodge truck, and that he was wearing a black hat and blue jeans.
Other officers spotted the suspect vehicle on Tina Avenue and were attempting a high-risk traffic stop. Shortly afterward, officers advised the male was now fleeing in the truck and driving southbound on Reserve Street.
Suspect Refuses to Stop His Vehicle
At one point, Harrison-Woolf’s truck drove into the turn lane to head eastbound onto Union Pacific and came to a stop. An officer positioned her patrol vehicle behind the truck and another officer pointed her department-issued firearm at the truck. The officer could see the brake lights still activated and Harrison-Woolf was not cooperating with commands to exit the vehicle.
Harrison-Woolf continued through the intersection and headed eastbound onto Union Pacific. Officers continued to pursue the truck. At one point, the truck drove around spike strips and up onto the sidewalk. A patrol vehicle blocked Union Pacific and the truck came to a final stop. Another patrol vehicle pinned the truck from behind and trapped it.
Harrison-Woolf opened the driver’s side truck door and began to walk aggressively toward an officer. Harrison-Woolf was ultimately tased by officers and placed into custody. Officers determined that the registration on Harrison-Woolf’s truck had expired in January of 2025 and that the vehicle was not insured.

An officer spoke to the second reporting party who said he had a video of the incident. Harrisoon-Woolf banging on the door of Doe’s residence. He described the banging on the door as the loudest banging he had ever heard.
The reporting party asks, “What’s going on?” Harrison-Woolf responds, “I have a gun.” That is when the reporting party stated he was calling the cops. After watching the video, it appeared to the officer that Harrison-Woolf was behaving in a threatening manner towards the reporting party during this interaction.
Harrison-Woolf was placed under arrest and was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center. He is currently being charged with felony attempted burglary, felony intimidation, criminal mischief, fleeing from a peace officer, operating without liability insurance, and operating a vehicle with expired registration. His bond was set at $150,000.
