Missoula Man on Probation Gets Caught With Heroin, Meth, and Pills
Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On November 25th, 2022, a Missoula Police Department officer pulled over a vehicle for having an expired registration. The passenger of the vehicle was identified as 46-year-old Mathew Brown. The officer knew that Brown was on felony probation. Police Public Information Officer Lydia Arnold picks up the story.
“Based on the totality of the circumstances that developed during the stop, probation and parole requested a search of Brown and the area within his immediate control,” Arnold said. “During the search, officers located syringes, which still contained a dark liquid. During the search, the officer also located a substance that showed presumptive positive for heroin, a substance that showed presumptive positive for methamphetamine, and located several scheduled pills.”
Court documents indicate that during a search of Brown’s person, a “Sure Comfort” brand hypodermic needle, that is of the type commonly used to inject illegal substances, was found in Brown’s pocket.
Inside the glove-box, officers found a pouch with several used “Sure Comfort” brand syringes, some of which still contained a dark liquid that appeared to be a mixture of heroin and blood. Officers also found a variety of other apparent drug paraphernalia including a glass pipe, cotton balls, and a metal spoon.
Officers further discovered 10 total pills. Using a pill identifier, they identified five pills as Alprazolam and five pills as Lorazepam. The State is awaiting a chemical analysis of the suspected drugs at the Montana State crime lab.
Brown is currently being charged with four counts of felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs.
On September 12, 2022, Brown was charged with felony criminal possession of dangerous drugs for having Fentanyl.
