Missoula, MT (KGVO-AM News) - On February 5th, 2025, at approximately 12:50 AM, Multiple law enforcement officers were dispatched to WinCo following a report that a male attempted to fight someone and had pulled a gun during the altercation. The caller informed dispatch that the male suspect has been removed from the store and was sitting in a black vehicle located in the parking lot.

Officers arrived on scene and observed a male in the back seat immediately behind the driver’s seat. An officer was able to immediately identify the male as 18-year-old Shaydn Moses, based on previous incidents. Moses was ordered to exit the car. Initially Moses attempted to hide from law enforcement, and then became verbally uncooperative, but eventually complied with the commands.

Upon his exit Moses was immediately placed in handcuffs. No firearm was discovered on Moses’s person during a pat search. An officer attempted to ask Moses about what occurred in the store, but Moses stated he did not know what the officer was talking about.

A male gave consent to law enforcement to search the vehicle Moses was located in. An officer conducted the search and located a tan Glock 19x9mm pistol. The firearm was loaded, with a bullet in the chamber, and was located directly where Moses was seated.

After speaking with Moses, an officer entered the store, spoke with the on-duty manager, and reviewed store security camera footage. The manager explained that Moses pulled a weapon while shopping in the store and was kicked out for being aggressive.

Based on the totality of the circumstances, officers determined they had probable cause to believe Moses committed the offense of Assault with a Weapon and placed him under arrest. After Moses was transported to the Missoula County Detention Center a subsequent investigation occurred.
