Griz Football Black Out Uniforms up for a National Award. Vote!
Perhaps a simple handwritten sign observed in the student section expressed how many fans felt about the new look.
"Black is the New Maroon" (uh, no) got some exposure on Griz Vision at Washington-Grizzly Stadium when the University of Montana Grizzlies unveiled their new black out alternate uniforms against Ferris State on September 16. It was a rather lackluster 17-10 win over a talented Division II team that hardly gave any indication of the incredible season to come.
But oh, those uniforms.
CAST YOUR BALLOT NOW NOW NOW!
UM Sports Information Director Eric Taber tells us that the uniforms are up for a national award, and fans can vote for the Griz as the best in the Football Championship Subdivision (FCS). They have been nominated by an online uniform tracker called UNISWAG.
Voting is now open but ONLY until 10:00 a.m. Mountain Time tomorrow (Saturday, February 24).
ANOTHER BRAWL OF THE WILD?
There are 10 Uniform of the Year nominees. And if you need added incentive to vote for the Griz, the Montana State Bobcats are also nominated. The other 8 FCS schools on the ballot are Austin Peay, Missouri State, North Alabama, North Dakota, Princeton, Sacramento State, Towson, and Youngstown State. We have to admit, there are some pretty nice looking uniforms nominated. But we also know how Griz Nation gets behind these kinds of things, and we look forward to showing off the winning....well, what?
We are not sure what, if any, prize is given by UNISWAG. Regardless, if you loved the look, let your digital voice be heard!
