The fascination with Willy Wonka and his chocolate factory started back in 1964 with the Roald Dahl novel titled "Charlie and the Chocolate Factory". That book was the basis of the 1971 movie starring Gene Wilder as Willy Wonka. Today, some 50 plus years later, there is still a fascination "Willy Wonka", with the musical movie release of "Wonka" starring Timothee Chalamet. I admit that I occasionally appreciate a beer, and I have a pretty powerful sweet tooth. I usually don't combine the two. I have tried different candy and beers from many different parts of the world. Maybe I need to rethink the combining of the two after I saw this list of "Candy Beer".

According to Homebrewacademy.com, there is a surprising list of home-microbrews that are using candy combinations as their inspiration.

  • Snickers Beer
  • Oreos Beer
  • Hershey's Beer
  • Reeses' Beer
  • Butterfinger Beer
  • Twix Beer
  • Kit Kat Beer

The Beer Recipes are Creative

Hombebrewacademy.com has recipes and suggestions on how to brew your own candy inspired brews. They suggest everything from the wheat and hops to which barley you could use. They also have a recipe for an "Oreo Shamrock Shake Beer".  What should you eat when drinking candy beer? They provide suggested pairings for the beers. It may seem pretty obvious, but eating something "savory" may be the best bet to go with these sweet infused beers.

I am Not Sure These Beers Would Sell in Montana

There are a lot people who are picky about their beer and what flavors they like. Whether it is a Lager, a Stout, or an I.P.A.  A lot people I know, don't care for fruit in their beer. They normally turn down the offered slice of lime in their "Corona". I can only imagine how they would take an "M & M beer.

LOOK: Best Beers From Every State

To find the best beer in each state and Washington D.C., Stacker analyzed January 2020 data from BeerAdvocate, a website that gathers user scores for beer in real-time. BeerAdvocate makes its determinations by compiling consumer ratings for all 50 states and Washington D.C. and applying a weighted rank to each. The weighted rank pulls the beer toward the list's average based on the number of ratings it has and aims to allow lesser-known beers to increase in rank. Only beers with at least 10 rankings to be considered; we took it a step further to only include beers with at least 100 user rankings in our gallery. Keep reading to find out what the best beer is in each of the 50 states and Washington D.C.
