You Know School Is Back in Missoula When You See These Signs

It’s back-to-school time here in Missoula. 

University of Montana students have moved in for the semester, Griz football has kicked off, and before we know it, fall will be here.

Middle schools and high schools are back in session, which means you start noticing some familiar signs around town.

Our listeners had plenty of answers. 

One thing I’ve definitely noticed is that the lines at fast-food restaurants seem to get a lot longer, especially around lunchtime and after school. A few weeks ago, you could pull into some of these places and get your food pretty quickly. Now, you may want to give yourself a little extra time. 

Prioritizing Safety in School Zones

Another important reminder as we get back into the school year is to slow down in school zones. 

On South Reserve Street, the speed limit in front of C.S. Porter Middle School is 30 miles per hour when the school-zone lights are flashing. Please pay attention, slow down and watch for students crossing the street. 

Those are just a couple of the signs that tell you school is back in session.

There are plenty of others, from more school buses and traffic in the morning to parents making the daily school drop-off and pick-up runs.
